AAC Wattisham - 3 Regiment visit
AAC Wattisham - 3 Regiment visit
As I'm sure you guys already know 3 Regiment AAC hosted a number of aviation groups on Thursday. I was especially looking forward to it as my luck with the Apache hasn't been good in the past!
I'm glad to say the day went very well indeed. My thanks goes to Cottesmore Aviation Group and to the guys on 3 Reg for their time and also giving us some great access (especially the balcony on the ATC tower).
Here is a selection of photos from the day. I've taken loads and I've had a tough time picking a selection to post.
As per usual I've added them to my site...

There is a few different photos on there and also a link to my full selection from the day.

Nice set. Always good to see shots of the ugly beauty. Love the hangar shots

A great set of images. Was the face block-out at the crews request? Never seen such a thing on this site before?

Thanks.
No, I didn't have a request to block out the pilots face on that one photo. His face was clearly visible and since he wasn't part of a display team or another public facing part of the Army I decided to blur it out. I hadn't spoke to this pilot and I'm not sure he knew he was being photographed (400mm lens) so didn't really feel I had the right to keep his face in the photo; especially since the Apache crews have taken a very active role in Op HERRICK.

Very wise Gord especially with all the sensoring they do in books of names and photo's particularly of the 'Mosquito' crews.

A fine set Gord, especially the elevated shots with the green backgrounds. Very nice indeed.
Re: AAC Wattisham - 3 Regiment visit
Thanks guys!
The elevated shots were taken from the balcony of the ATC tower. Got lucky with the timing on that one. I could have happily stayed there for the rest of the week!

I've added numbers to the photos now (should have thought of doing that when I posted).
Cheers!
