Waddington:- ACPV departures 1/Oct/09

Post by ursa_major »

Unfortunately I missed a couple of the earlier departures today. The light was fading fast by the time I arrived, and the departures happened just before the setting sun emerged underneath the clouds in the distance. 20 minutes later, this set would have been classics. As it was, I had to make do with the light available.

C-17

GR9 - not playing ball at all, he was really high by the time he crossed the 20 threshold
Image

GR4 - kept it reasonably low, but had knocked the burners off earlier than I'd have liked
Image

C-130 - competing against the Harrier for rate of climb too. I know Lincoln's not the most salubrious of places, but it ain't exactly KAF!
Image

F-3 - here's a driver who really gets it. Held it low with the burners plugged in all the way. If you're reading this, BZ mate! :D

Top drawer!

The rotating C-17 is superb! and the low F3 is also very good! - great use of the light.

That first C17 is really nice Graham. What time did the F3 depart?

Thanks chaps!

@Dean: The F-3 lifted at 1813. I was told 1830 +/- 40 minutes so just managed to get there in time for most of the deps.

Another vote for number one, Graham. Lovely light! The second last F3 is also very nice.
