111(F) Sqn @ Coningsby 290908

Managed to pop over to Coningsby last Monday just as the 111 Sqn F3's were getting ready to head home after stopping for the weekend. Sadly, one of the jets went u/s on start and didnt depart with the other three. However, the three that did manage to get airbourne did so in cracking morning sunlight.

Always great to see some F3's Seeing the 4 aircraft lined up last weekend reminded me of how Coningsby used to be nice shots.

Cool, nice to see F3s south of the border again, but what on earth are those stickers on the fin about....

Many thanks for the comments fella's. I think the stickers are a bit of a PR drive. From most of the role demo shots that I have seen this year, at least one of these jets has been used, so it could just be used to promote the RAF in the public in it's 90th year. Even the display typhoons have this decal stuck on them. However, it was nice to see them back at Coningsby even if it was a brief visit.

I stand to be corrected on the decals.
