A week at Glasgow

Post by CASAMAC »

Crivens, 3 military visitors to Glasgow in the same week. There was another HC130P but I missed it.
I only got this because it returned with a tech problem.

This was on the first of 2 visits last weekend, and it was in with spares for the AB212 on the
Italian ship involved in Joint Warrior.

Think I might pop along from Drumoyne and try and catch this leaving, any ideas on what time it will be departing?

There was a U.S DC-9 (poss a USN C-9) in this afternoon between 1600-1700 that taxied over to the end of the short runway beside the Herc stopped briefly, and then back-tracked down the runway before departing. i never saw anyone working outside the HC-130 after that, not before darkness kicked in and as far as I know it was still there at midnight.

Herc left at about 1245 today. Looked like it could have been a gear problem or an APU snag as the L/h mainwheel door had been disconnected and swung fully upwards this morning.

Will post a pic or two later,

P.S Sorry to originator of the thread for hijacking it!
