Tornado role demo 2012

Post by Macc »

Went down for it earlier on, with beautiful weather it was extremely enjoyable. Really good demo. You're in for a treat in the Summer.

3. Note the inert ASRAAM on the left inner pylon missile rail.

..and onto the demo, which they did twice. The first time was quite high so no photos but the second one was much lower.

Shot 9 is a belter. A real sense of speed and power.

Great stuff, if they kick up as much vapour in light as good as that in the summer I'll be very happy!

Interesting to see the ASRAAMs, wonder if that'll be more common after ELLAMY. Can't think as anything else uses Sidewinder, so time for that's phasing out maybe?

Awesome photos. Really capture the speed and power of the aircraft which - as has been mention - is what it's all about!

Two questions:

1:Where did you view from? I've only done one visit to Marham and was fairly dissapointed with places to watch from, but these photos look ace!

2: Where did you find out the role demo was on today?

Thanks!

- Alex
