Memories, Afghanistan a few Years ago

Post by Nordostseespotter »

Hey everbody,

after looking through my pictures to remember so good times I had down there I decided to share some photos with you guys.

I hope you like some of them, due to the fact that I didnt had a super professional kamera with me the quality might wont be as good as expected but I kinda like them in some way.

More might be on my Facebook Fanpage later if I decide to rework some more (just follow the link in my signature, it will guide you to the Fanpage).

First of are two german tornados, they left afghanistan 2011 and their main task was reconaissance, on the center spot under the plane youll see the so called "RECCE" Pod which has 3 high end kamera in its body taking excellent shots from the ground.

These are the first two Italian AF Tornados that touched ground in the squadrons history, this pictures was taken right after landing.

At the evening more Italian AF Tornados arrived and took a rest before next days first mission.

German Army CH-53GS just after parking (they arrived after another IED Explosion thankful without casualties).

Last one for now, French AF (AdA) C-160 Transall unloading cargo for german troops.

Hope you enjoyed them a little bit.

I sadly didnt catched one of these mysterious C-130s (white and without and registration) because they only came at night and without ANY lights on, they didnt even called the tower for a landing clearance. I remember that they parked infront of a Special Forces Camp (whatever theyve done there I will never know...)

Oh my friends dont get interupted by my Avatar im not in the 56th (I served in a tornado squadron and currently im in a CH-53 squadron) I just consider the Pave Hawk as my favorite helicopter and I really like and support the job these guys do down there for living.

Oh and yeah all these were taken in MeS ( guess thats not classified anymore, it was all over in the german news)

Here are some more after looking through my stuff.

German Tornado just before the sun disappears.

Time to get these birds flying ;)

First off, I normally dont share inflight pictures due to the fact that most of them are classified if taken over a real target area and on a mission, but this one was taken during a practice flight and was taken from another plane (no tornado).

Thats it for now ;) enjoy.
