JW 15-1 arrivals and a few locals, Lossie

Post by onemac »

Great start to the exercise up here - hope it continues like this for those of you travelling up in the next few weeks.

1. Civvy charter delivering stuff for the American contingent. 7 PoB with only 1 x pax.

2. Departure was spectacular - he was light and only heading to East Midlands but impressive nevertheless.

3. Cleaning up.

Managed to borrow one of the new 100-400 Mk II's to try with my 7D. The following shots are with that lens - really impressed.

14. Break at 1,000' - heavy crop but nice.

Nice set Al. First time I've seen an MPA run and break, any idea why?

Splendid set, good to see good diversity at Lossie once again! The run and break looks mighty quick

Thanks chaps.

Steve - the excuse given by the German to tower was that an instrument required a software upgrade so he couldn't do a normal PAR approach. Shades of 'Top Gun' if you ask me as his excuse did seem contrived but he could have just been struggling with the language. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as it gave us a great piccy opportunity

Because he can?!

There was a German P-3 at Wittmund for the F-4 retirement event and it did something similar on arrival, but the weather wasn't good so that may have precluded a run and break. He went for a low, high speed pass instead.

You see lots of heavies do a run and break at Nellis: B-1s, B-52s, E-3s, C-17s, C-130s, KC-135s

Some lovely light there.
