A huge welcome for the Uruguayans at gloomy Aberdeen

Post by Black Mike »

What a surprise, the best military visitors to Aberdeen for decades?

Just when my full frame body was u/s I really needed the superior noise performance DOH!!!!!!!!!!
Ah well I had to make do with the APS-C sensor A77 and my 70-200 f2.8.
Most seemed to be at 200mm, f4, 1/80th, ISO800 but they came out not too bad such that I could get a reasonable Web image. Probably need to play a bit in PS later but even PS/LR I couldn't rescue the camera shake which plagued 90% of my shots. A few were nailed but most went in the bin.

In no particular order.

Apparently both ex Portuguese.
Well what can we expect next I wonder.

Very nice! Certainly not what you might expect to see at Aberdeen!

Thankfully it was one of the locals who gave the heads up otherwise I might not have believed it.
15 minutes later and it was too dark to shoot them so we were lucky.
A few guys got them going out the following morning but I was working unfortunately.

We don't get many military visitors at all but we did have the Mexican Presidential B757 earlier in the year too.

Superb catch , typical though isn't it , this time of the year the light is poor most of the time and the good stuff starts turning up
