Tiger Inferno - NTM16

Post by JonoUK »

Hi All,

Took me a little while to get through these but hopefully some new / different angles on offer. It's been well documented that the spotters day was looking a little iffy compared to what was promised ahead of time. All came good in the end though with wall to wall sun and one of the best open day / free shows I have attended it really reminded me of airshows of old with the jets positioned very well and all crews out and happy to talk with an overall relaxed atmosphere. All in all a big success I think, on with the images.

It amazes me the efforts that the squadrons put in on these schemes. I so wish a tiger meet could be held on UK soil, perhaps at a base in Gloucestershire in early July. Great photographs.

Those are nice; magnificent machines, and finely captured! #2 would be my pick of the bunch.

These are awesome  Thanks for sharing the pics

Out of interest, do the RAF ever participate in the Tiger meets? I don't recall ever seeing anything from the RAF in a special tiger scheme - is it an official 'thing' that we're not members of or just chose not to? :dunno:

I'm thinking a tiger print F-35 might look quite cool  :dizzy:
With just the slightest bit of finesse, I might have made a little less mess.

We used to, 74 sqn used to attend. I am not sure whether we have any Tiger squadrons now. The last tigers I recall seeing were a RN Merlin, an AAC Lynx and an RAF Puma about 10 years ago, whether the squadrons still participate I don't know.

Thanks for that. I think there was an RAF helicopter there for this one actually - saw a photo on another thread IIRC - but it wasn't painted up!

230. Sq is usually taking part.

This year, XW214 was in Zaragoza.
