Spent a week over in Israel earlier this month on an aviation tour. During this time we managed to visit a couple of the airbase open days as part of the 70th anniversary of the Israeli Air Force. Here's a few shots and a little info on the types.

Beechcraft A36 Khofit (Hebrew: Stint) Entered service in 2004, the Bonanza is used in the liaison role, with most of the fleet based at Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv.

General Dynamics F-16D Brakeet (Hebrew: Thunderbolt) More than a two seat trainer, this is a fully capable strike aircraft, with a weapons system officer occupying the second seat. These are rumoured to be used in the Wild Weasel role, the enlarged spine holds additional avionic equipment. This example was delivered under the Peace Marble II program.

While on base we were lucky enough to see the take off of an F-16C four ship. The heat haze was a bit of a problem though!

You've gotta love the camo on those things. A great collection and certainly a good few types to tick off the list. Funnily enough I'm actually most drawn to the Vautour! Were the Baraks the only things that flew?

It certainly makes a change from the usual grey airframes that we tend to see over here! The Vautour is a very nice example, there were another 3 of them at the Air Force Museum in Hatzerim.

The Baraks were the only thing flying that I managed to photo, the AS.565 flew just as we were leaving, but I didn't get any decent shots. We only stayed for a couple of hours at Ramat David as the plan was to get to Haifa AB for the flypast, though that didn't really go to plan!

Thanks  The blue skies certainly made a change from the miserable weather here, though my trip coincided with the hottest week of the year so far in the UK
