RAF Aggressors

Draken Europe appear to have won the contract, replacing Hawk T1s with L139Es. Six year contract, based at Teesside Airport.

Lets hope for something other than black although I don't expect to see them over the Lakes like 100 sqn often did. Only 8 aircraft are apparently on strength.

Not exactly news they had been awarded it, given they put a planning app in for two new hangers at Teeside last month, as well as advertising for UK based L139 pilots a couple of months back.

It doesn’t work like that. If you are tendering for a time-critical contract like that, it’s normal business practice to stake steps in advance such as putting in planning applications and advertising for staff before contract award. If you don’t win the contract, you don’t proceed with the building or hiring.
