Birds of Prey in Gt. Manchester

Post by Mooshie1956 »

So I've had my Nikon Z50 for about a month now, it's been a bit of a pain getting use to it, but I'm now getting happy with my results. I'm finding that using auto area AF is giving me slightly better results than centre point, especially when trying to track a bird in flight, single point seems to lose the subject as quick as you find it. Aircraft going into Manchester airport over Stockport also seem to lock on easier with auto area AF.
I'm happy enough with the sharpness and detail on these although my hit rate is still only around 25% in most cases, the buzzard was one good shot in about 30, although it was quite high and a heavy crop needed.
Auto focus with the Sigma 150 600 contemporary feels a little sluggish, while using a Z DX 50 250 lens AF is pretty quick.
Overall I would say it's a pretty decent camera for around a £1000.I picked mine up 2nd hand for £500 and £180 for the FTZ mount.
These are all shot on the Z50 with the sigma 150 600 lens.
