Norweigen Vampire and Mig for the June show
We are delighted to announce that we are booked for IWM Duxford Summer Air Show 18-19 June with DH Vampire FB.5 and MiG-15 (SBLim-2) Flying display at Duxford is one of the season’s highlights and we are really looking forward to participating again.

Our DH Vampire FB.5 “The Shepherd” is in a temporary paint scheme representing an 94 Sqn. aircraft from Second Tactical Air Force RAF Celle Germany. The aircraft has been involved in recent film work in the UK. The SBLim-2 (MiG-15) will also be sporting a new paint scheme this year to be announced later on. Duxford summer airshow will be the first appearance abroad showing the new livery.

Seen murmurings of A-10's to Lakenheath in June. Wonder if Duxford will be able to get a couple of flypasts?

Will they be doing a "Seven Up" instead of "Diamond Nine"?...

Agreed. Last year was a really decent line up all things considered - and the F-18 was supposed to be there as well lets not forget.

No doubt i'll enjoy myself at Duxford but this year is rather lacklustre...

I really enjoyed the Summer Airshow last year, but as a full replacement of Legends? Nope.

Time to sort things out with Flying Legends and move the summer show back to May.

I know there's not a huge amount of variety in the airshow scene these days, but a few years ago that would've been a decent free seaside show lineup, not a premium show at a venue like Duxford. Great Yarmouth in 2018 had quite a few of the displays listed for Duxford this year.

The wife suggested going on the Sunday for Father's day, but it would be £110 for three of us. The MiG and Vampire are nice, but I'm not sure I can justify that sort of money for a couple of aircraft.

There’s plenty of variety in the uk scene at duxford just seem to think they can book whatever and the crowds will flood in. There’s so many great civilian operators they just don’t utilise at all

Quite agree - the Midlands Air Festival lineup looks very similar to the present Flying List for the Summer Show, with one or two notable differences. In the end plenty of Spitfire/Hurricane additions will no doubt be made to Duxford.

IWM Duxford has apparently cut all ties with the Air Cadets who help out at every show. The Cadets were told "they won’t be needing our services any more"

Duxford couldn't pay them last year, so the Cadets squadron did it for free.

They have been helping at Duxford since the 1980s.

This has recently been posted under FAQs on the IWM website :
"We are pleased to announce a free shuttle bus will run from Cambridge rail station to and from Duxford Summer Air Show. The shuttle bus will also stop at Trumpington Park & Ride.
Buses will run from approximately 8.30am to 1pm and then from approximately 3pm to 6.30pm. Please have your pre-booked Duxford Summer Air Show ticket available to show on the day (print or download)."
