F35s mentioned on FC. Possibly formating with the Voyagers. Perhaps one of the voyagers trailing to demonstrate the dual role?

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
Thanks, I hadn’t seen any mention of 5 or a diamond 4 of hawks.
Assuming a dozen Hawks are taking part and other numbers are correct that would leave 2x places for the F-35s (possibly alongside one of the Voyagers) to make up the 70 aircraft.
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
Zoomable map for the Red Arrows here, looks like they are coming in across Norfolk/Suffolk.

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
I'm very surprised no 'Formation' video or picture has been posted like RAF100 when we knew a few days before exactly what formations there would be etc.
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
It’s to keep the secret of the BA A380 and Red Arrows formation under wraps
Just kidding, it’s a strange one. No updates (reminds me of a certain airshow and surprise they’re the hosts).

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
I think the only thing not in the public domain is what they're doing with the Hawks. And, you can only do so much with 12 or 13 Hawks. Quite looking forward to seeing what they came up with though.
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
from whats appeared on facebook this evening on various groups its just 4 T2 hawks, 15 typhoons 70, ZZ336 with 4 f35s, another voyager with f35 and typhoon plus all the known stuff.

Oh well, that's a bit disappointing. Better now though than after a 560 mile round trip. I'll still be in London on Thursday at 1pm.

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
I've just seen this excellent map on Military-airshows.co.uk which details the route very well, might be of use (I don't think it's been posted previously) you can expand it to full screen and zoom in to a very large scale...

Both the Valley Avition Society and the RAF Coningsby Spotters Group on Facebook, and numerous others, are saying as follows (I suspect copying it from each other):
Still can’t find an official link or anything official confirming this, though.Assuming all goes to plan (not being cancelled due to bad weather/ low cloud or technical/ serviceability issues) Here is the official formation for the Jubilee Flypast on Thursday:
5 x Wildcat
5 x Apache
5 x Merlin
(Army Air Corps and Royal Navy helicopters, there should be 15 total)
3 x Puma
3 x Chinook
BBMF - 1 x Lancaster 2 x Hurricanes, 3 x Spitfires
1 x Phenom
4 x Texan
3 x Hercules
1 x Atlas
1 x Globemaster
1 x Poseidon
1 x Rivet Joint
1 x Voyager, 1 x Typhoon, 1 x F-35
1 x VIP Voyager, 4 x F-35
4 x Hawk T2
15 x Typhoon ( in the shape of “70")
Red Arrows
This hopefully makes 72 aircraft on the day, excluding a possible photoship

Can't see that lasting 7 minutes? Mind you depends on the spacing.

It'll take the first 5 minutes just to get the helicopters through
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
I count 75 aircraft in that list. This hopefully makes 72 aircraft on the day, excluding a possible photoship
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
I'm also counting 75 on that list if the Reds are using 9 aircraft.
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
Still no official routing info, to know whether the large and fast jet stuff will take same route as the published one the Reds are taking over Heathrow and Windsor Castle, or that is just the Reds, and the main jet stuff will take the usual Trooping route to the NW and out over RAF Northolt...?
However, the NOTAM map for tomorrow only has the Jubilee route showing the same routing over Heathrow and Windsor Castle as the published Reds route, with no orange line seperating off to the NW and over RAF Northolt.
My guess is all of the stuff baring helo's and BBMF will route via Heathrow and Windsor Castle based on the NOTAM.

So if in London, is Waterloo bridge the "best" place to take pictures from? What other options are there? Any suggestions?JMC wrote: ↑Mon 30 May 2022, 10:13 amWaterloo for sure!lambo17841 wrote: ↑Sun 29 May 2022, 3:27 pmWhich is best for photos Westminster or Waterloo bridges?

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
It depends what type of shot you're looking for. A side view of the aircraft? belly side? A photogenic shot of The Mall and Union Jacks?phantom_phixer wrote: ↑Wed 01 Jun 2022, 5:20 pmSo if in London, is Waterloo bridge the "best" place to take pictures from? What other options are there? Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
Think the world and its wife are going to be on Waterloo Bridge. That is my usual place to go, last time was quite busy so might have to consider other options. The Mall is good for the Union Flag shots or the approaching shots over Admiralty Arch.
Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
Are you able to see it off of the Norfolk coast line??

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast
Hard to say, seems there are two routes on the Notam. They were forming up off the North Coast the other week, (Wells to Cromer area) but I am not sure whether you would see anything from the coast. I don’t know whether they are coming in around the Suffolk/Norfolk coast or over Swaffham/Thetford. The Reds seem to be doing the latter.
