The evening show depends on the tide times(the reason the show dates change every year), because this is a july show it wont be anywhere near dark until 9pm.

I expect next time its september show for it to return

The last time Southport was in the early July slot, in 2018, the night launch took place. It was lovely in the summer evening too, with a Red Arrows display in stunning light, and all with timings that were far more feasible to get to in time. So I doubt that's the reason - more likely to be because its the first post pandemic event and a little less ambitious cost-wise, no?

European Airshows reporting a ‘limited’ 7 min display at both Southport and Farnborough - likely just a solo?

It’s been clear from the outset that Southport will get an abridged display from the Black Eagles, RIAT being the only U.K. venue that gets the full display. It’s the team at Southport though, not a solo.

Don’t know about FIA.

From Southport's airshow page.
Southport Air Show will play host to the first UK appearance for 2022 by the world famous the Republic of Korea Air Force” in more than ten years.

The Asian nation’s Black Eagles aerobatic flight team, which will see eight KAI T-50B planes, specially-painted in their trademark black, white, and yellow, take part in a series of jaw dropping and awe-inspiring aerial manoeuvres.

The eight Black Eagle pilots will be thrust to the back of seats, experiencing G-force nine times greater than Earth's gravity in their supersonic jets.

The original display team was formed in October 1953, and operated four P-51 Mustangs. In 1967, a new display team, the Black Eagles, was formed. In 1978 the team was disbanded in order to enhance defense preparedness.

The full-time aerobatic team, the Black Eagles, was re-established as the 2nd flight of the 238th Fighter Squadron, the 8th Fighter Wing in December 1994, and flew six Cessna A-37B Dragonfly airplanes. In April 1999 the flight was detached from the 238 FS and became the 239th Aerobatic Flight Squadron.

Famed for their pinpoint accuracy and sophisticated flying displays, the Black Eagles will stun visitors to the Southport Air Show with their jaw dropping aerobatic display.
So I don't expect a solo display.

Apologies - I had not seen any communication that the Southport display would be a truncated version of the full routine.

Where has this been posted please?

It’s still showing on their Facebook page as of now for me.

Re the link to the announcement on the Southport website, I can’t see any mention of this being a shorter display?

Happy to be corrected. Just posting information I thought might be of interest to potential attendees.

If the Koreans are flying from Boscombe Down, as rumored elsewhere, I think a shorter display at Southport is to be expected, given the transit fuel required.

Hoping for something for the enthusiast, heard rumours of the Seafire but nothing concrete. Would love to see the Ultimate Fighters team and Mig-15 but we'll just have to wait and see.

Coming out of temporary 'airshow retirement' for this one! Nothing to do with the fact I'm up in Southport that weekend visiting friends anyway :) Looks a decent showing for a seaside airshow.

What are the 'to be added' I wonder? Another fast jet would be great.

I'm surprised we've got nothing from Peter Teichman yet, he usually gives good support to Southport. Other than that, if it's still flying the Huey from Preston/Blackpool, as Chris G says the Seafire, wingwalkers, Vampire, or Mig if it's in the UK. With no Legends we could be getting some Duxford stuff. A nice USAF flypast in a nod to Burtonwood would also be nice.
There's a lack of warbirds so far and I don't expect to see the Swedish historic flight this year.

Swedes at Fairford the week after for static...

But not arriving there till friday

Implications for possible attendance at Southport?

If they were going to appear at Southport then surely they wouldn't wait until Friday to go to Fairford, would they? Or would they go back to Sweden then back to the UK on Friday for RIAT?

Right,

They came to Southport last time - so in an ideal world you might think Southport and Fairford would share the fuel .
But the not arriving at Fairford till Friday seems to kill the idea - maybe.
Can't see why you would take them back to Sweden mid week
