Kaman Huskie locations in the UK

Post by TEXANTOMCAT »

HI all

Just a quickie- I saw the Huskie at the weekend at Midland Air Museum - apparently one of two on display in the UK - where is the second one? Weston Super Mare IHM? I did google but I couldnt find any results!

Many thanks

TT

(mod note - please don't use all caps in your thread titles, thanks)

PS I'm most disappointed that you had to resort to Google Mr Brown, and don't have a copy of 'Wrecks & Relics' to hand.

MAM is great - did they let you sit in the Hind? Awesome bit of kit!

He can purchase a copy of Wrecks & Relics in the NAM Shop if he's coming to Cockpit-Fest!

There's two in Europe (including the one at Coventry), perhaps that's what you saw/heard?

So you obviously need one for work and one for home. Either that, or stop browsing the internet for aeroplane porn in working hours! :-)

There was a second HH-43F, 62-4518 wfu at Woodbridge and used by the 67 ARRS for rescue training along with a F-111 escape pod. Parts from 62-4518 were used in the restoration of 62-4535. A scan of a poor slide from 1978:

According to the source material quoted by the Wiki entry, 62-4552 was due to move from preservation in Pakistan to the IHM at W/Super Mare (no dates given) so that may be where the confusion lies.
