Instead of guessing, or making insinuations that the SwAFHF simply can't be bothered to work up a display that satisfies the CAA, why not simply look up the truth and see that Peter R posted the exact reason a few years ago?

"The Civil Aviation Authority no longer accepts foreign Display Authorisations (DA)s for civillain pilots to perform flying displays in the UK, so therefore the Swedish issued display authorisations for the SwAFHF cannot be accepted in the UK at either a civilian or military air show. Difference with the Norwegians is the pilot for the MiG-15UTi has a UK CAA Display Authorisation so is therefore permitted to fly."

I'd like to think he'd know...

Before someone mentions it, the restrictions enforced after 2015 only apply over land as far as I am aware.
Things have changed since then with http://www.caa.co.uk/srg1328 (SRG1328: UK Display Authorisation (DA) Exemption Application) and http://www.caa.co.uk/srg1329 (SRG1329: UK Display Authorisation Exemption evaluation form).
DA Exemptions may be applied for by non-UK civilian display pilots / teams and operators / pilots of Commercial Air Transport (CAT) aircraft.
And from CAP403
Foreign participation
1.22 DAs issued by other countries may be accepted by the UK CAA for pilots
participating in Flying Displays in the UK where they provide a similar
level of assurance to the UK system. The limitations imposed on pilots
holding a DA issued in another country whilst displaying in the UK are the
more restrictive of the limits specified in the pilot’s DA or the limits
imposed in the Flying Display Permission or by the FDD.

1.23 Questions concerning the acceptability of holders of any other non-UK DA
should be directed to the UK CAA GA Unit.

1.24 Non-UK Pilots may hold, if they wish, a UK DA provided they meet all the
requirements specified in CAP 1724 and have been recommended to the
CAA by a UK DAE. The limitations of the UK DA will apply to Flying
Displays flown in the UK.

1.25 Alternatively, non-UK pilots who do not hold a UK DA or a national DA
acceptable to the UK CAA, can apply for a UK DA Exemption using Form
SRG 1328. Details on the application process can be found in CAP 1724
Hence why the SwAFHF made THREE UK MAINLAND flying display appearances in 2019!!!!!! (Not to mention the likes of the Breitling Jet Team at numerous events, Flying Bulls in 2018 etc etc. )

Therefore we go back to Mike's point that there is no blanket ban on SwAFHF 'displaying' in the UK.

Does this mean the SWAfHF won't be in the flying display? :(

To be honest, I dont actually care that the SwAFHF are static only. I am more annoyed that the number of heavy static aircraft is small (primarily because of the Ukraine conflict) and that the A-10 demo wont make it - But we cant change that. Will I still enjoy the show? Definitely, although I hate training aircraft there are some flying and static displays which justifty spending £300 to attend RIAT this year. One thing for sure - this year's show will be better than the one in 2020 and 2021.

Any idea why they are not bringing their 'barrel' - SAAB J-29?

I guess because it's a single-seater & the 3 they *are* bringing are fitting into the show theme as two-seater aircraft.

French Rafale scedule is out, as well as Coutoue Delta and the others, the only French display team with RIAT on their scedule is the PC21 demo team which have already been announced. Soloturk scedule is indeed still not online anywhere, their website seems kind of broken so that could be a unexpected attendant.

For the 3 millionth time, when it's either been announced as coming or been confirmed as not attending we can discuss it here. Surely otherwise it belongs in the wishlist thread.

This just seems to have become a cyclical list of what's not coming, punctuated each Thursday by a bit of chat about what is actually attending.

Or is it just me? 🤔🙈

No perfectly correct CJS.

Has an aircraft been announced?
Is there any indication whatsoever it will attend via self confirms (not missing schedules or gaps).etc?

If an aircraft/act doesn't meet that criteria - you're posting a wishlist.

What are you on about? Read my response again, the guy is talking about french air force schedules while the other person asked about the french navy schedules so I corrected him. If your message was not at me then why are you including my response?

On the subject of aircraft that *are* actually attending the show, I'm hoping it's going to be standard procedure this year for the Belgian F-16 demo team to use the X-Tiger jet as the 'spare' (serviceability allowing). They did for Cosford, & so I believe, again this weekend @ Karup 🤞

Doesn’t need locking; what it does need are posters, often new to the forum, to read back a little, take Tommy’s advice and Peter’s “from the horses mouth” information and engage brain before operating fingers.

My apologies, I am a bit wrong to the whole forum thing and I think I understood it wrong which is my bad. We'll just have to see during the next announcements I guess! In the meantime, I'll read back a bit and dive into the studybooks of the forum, before doing something else wrong 🙃
