I've found a little more time inbetween working today to go through a few more of my photos from Valley back in the day. These are mostly visitors to the base with a few of the home gang in, all from autumn 2002 to summer 2003 and maybe a little beyond. Hard to believe that these are 20 years old and hard to believe how much we've 'lost' in that time. *weeps quietly*
Again, apologies for the quality of some of these, there are a mix of cameras at work and some of them were "I just had to photograph it without thinking" moments (see 1 and a half harriers shot!!!). With the Typhoon shot, I was told by one of the regulars there that it was the first time a Typhoon had visited Valley, although I remain skeptical! If anyone can shed any light on it though, it'd be interesting to find out. Also managed to bag Belgian F-16's that were on detachment too.
Still more to come plus some photocall images from '04/'05

Peter, I'm pretty sure you were with me for this one and the Hawk taxying too! I think you may have been there for the Sea Harrier too? It's amazing how it all comes flooding back and does indeed seem just like yesterday, I can't believe these are 20 years old. I know it's a "Kris Kris Tofferson!" photo now but I was pretty happy with that on a 6x4 print back in the day!

Great memories of when we used have a real air force.
We all took these visitors for granted back in the day and now there's hysteria on social media at just a single Typhoon visit

Yep, I remember in particular watching those jags taxiing out from the dunes by the fire Hawk. Can't believe that was 20 years ago, and I was pretty happy with my 6x4 prints too!

Nice reminders I must admit, hearing 2002/3 is classed as 'back in the day' is a tad alarming
