Paris Charles de Gaulle

Post by JohnH »

Like a lot of people, I took advantage of the Air France A380 flights to Paris this August to have a day at CDG. Trying to clear the back log of photos taken so far this year, here are a sample of the photos taken. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t to kind to us, although at least it stayed dry. The light was a tad challenging as it seemed to change every five minutes. More of the photos can be seen at http://jhphotography.fotopic.net/

On with the photos

Looks like a great spot for a bit of plane-snapping. Looks like you're almost close enough to touch them!

For those that haven't been there, the 'mound' is extremly close to the taxiway and you only really need a wide angle to medium zoom to get a decent photo. The sun (if it shines) is behind you in the morning moving round in front of you by mid afternoon.

Rob, I flew out on the 7th August and back on the 9th. The A380 was taken on Sunday 8th.

Hi John,

Nice photos.. I was on the same flights!

Just for interest do you get bothered by security at the mound location as there are signs all over the fences saying photography is strictly forbidden?? Got my shots from the Hotel room!!

Regards

Cliff

You can obtain a pass to allow photography.
If anyone needs one but dosn't know how, post a message and I'll get the info you need to get one.

Good evening John,

That was the flight that I was on, any chance can get a high res image over to me, as would like to print off and give to my Dad who was with me on the flight.

Kind regards

Rob, Will try and remember to sort something out when I get home tonight.

Cliff, I have a photo pass for CDG, but even so, didn't see the police or CRS in any form over the weekend.

Hi Cliff

Sorry for the delay

Ok.... to get a pass you need to email to this address :

xavier.huby@seine-saint-denis.pref.gouv.fr

stating your reasons...I just said I was an aviation enthusiast, thats it ))

I was asked by reply to send a photocopy of my passport picture page and I received a pass back in approx 6 weeks.

The pass itself seems not to have a time limit and I have never needed to show it ..

I got the info from this publication http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0955928109?ie=UTF8&tag=destipubli-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=1634&creativeASIN=0955928109 and recommend it highly for planning airport spotting trips abroad.
Good Luck !
