Coningsby Thurs 13th Jan

Post by bobtomlin »

Nipped over to the East as the weather didn't look good on my side of the country. Spent until 14.00 at Coningsby; some shots:

Left to head for Waddington (and the had the pleasure of seeing an F15 in my rear-view mirror, pulling streamers as I left) to see
if anything was happening there (which it wasn't).
While stood at the end of the runway, I did notice these flying behind Lincoln Cathedral, so should've tried Scampton instead.

Cheers, Bob.

Wow, love that last shot, very spectacular with the Reds breaking over/near(rather) the Lincoln Cathedral not something you see very often apart from an Airshow! Also I like the shot of the Typhoon landing and the BBMF Chipmunk in the background. Did you manage to see any more than that of the Reds or had they finished?

Thanks gents.
Unknown74, no, I only saw that they were out and about at roughly 16.00 when the light was fading
rapidly and it was too late to try to nip over there. From where I was (Waddington), it looked like 5 of
them were practising a routine where one corkscrews around the others before they all break. Would
have liked to have got closer for a better view.
Cheers Bob.

Lovely work, Bob. Super light on the Tornado. I also like number 7 with the efflux and port tyre kicking up the spray.
