Great Photos.

Its a real pity that there was so little media coverage of this. All we got was a few minutes on BBC Scotland.

Thanks gill for posting these images a fitting tribute to the F3. The first one is very atmospheric, I also like the knife edge pass shot. But the whole set is classy.

With Typhoons going on deployment to police Libya will they have enough fighters to maintain home QRA without 111? Lets hope for a stay of execution. With the world going to hell in a handbasket any sane government would think twice about continuing to slash defence...... we do not however have a sane government. :loser:

Nice pics BTW. Wish I could make it up there.

Wow, chill out man. Maybe with all the money they are saving, the government will invest it in education.

Chrisward123, regarding your last glimpse of a flying F.3, mine was ZE734 JU flying along side a Spitfire and a Typhoon at Leuchars last year, unfortunately had to leave before the formation finale - due traffic etc - .

Any news of what happened today? Now I discover I didn't only miss the Disbandment Parade but now I hear there's(been) a Russian Il-96 at Edinburgh - oh the pitfalls of work...............

I served as a National Serviceman with 111 Squadron as a photographer, processing the gun camera films during 1953 to 1955 at North Weald. They were great times with great Pilots. I remember Squadron Leader Topp as a remarkable Pilot. I still have my original Squadron Blazer badge and will always wear it with pride.
Long live the memory of Treble One.
