Shuttleworth's Pretty Poli

Post by DamienB »

After much spannering and sticking bits of wood to other bits of wood and various bodily parts, Old Warden's Polikarpov Po-2 is ready to join the airshow fleet. While the airframe is a postwar trainer variant, it is painted up as a WWII night bomber version, with rear facing machine gun tacked on to finish it off. Don't expect Gladiator style aerobatics - this is a quite a gentle performer.

If you want a nice topside you'll just have to come to Old Warden and take one yourself...

That looks very nice indeed. All we need now is weather like that for the show days.

At the weekend it was displayed like this Image

Not sure the Po 2 would ever have been assisted by a Hucks starter.... at least not an RAF one... unless someone knows different

Nice looking machine, and good pics....

Not so sure about Damien's description of the restoration techniques though....  almost sounds like a daytime D.I.Y. show
