Hi all, whilst capturing the Dominies arriving at Kemble a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to catch the newly restored Meteor out on her first test flight.
First up was a fast taxi on runway 26.
My shots of the takeoff were not very good as they were using runway 08, it pulled up quite high on takeoff so I only captured dark underside shots. However, not long in to the flight an indication in the cockpit informed the Pilot that there was a problem with the Port undercarriage. He then flew past the tower for an inspection seen below.
After this pass he circled round trying to re-cycle the gear. A Mayday was then declared, as the Aircraft was low on fuel, the Pilot explained to ATC that he was on one engine, to save fuel.
At one stage diverting to Brize, but then the problem seemed to be resolved and the Aircraft returned for a safe landing on 26.
I hope this post was of interest, thanks for looking!
Sam

Brilliant shots, and a fine looking machine.
I've been waiting to see these since I saw your messages on Twitter.
