Snakes Alive! - AH-1W Cobras

Post by TonyO »

Just a few shots of a recent favourite subject of mine, the AH-1W Cobra and its replacement the AH-1Z Viper in a range of locations but mainly from Afghanistan, Camp Pendleton and the Yuma ranges during Exercise Scorpion Fire. These aircraft are from a range of units, including HMLA-267 'Stingers,' HMLA-269 'Gunrunners,' HMLAT-303 'Atlas' and HMLA-367 'Scarface.'

First up, a handful from Afghanistan...

And finally one of 23 AH-1Z in the inventory...

Brilliant stuff (again) Tony, would have loved to have gone when I was in the RAF.

Some nice pics there, and the first one shows what looks like a very cramped office space.
"Nice pics mate" comments only! No criticism please.

Lovely shots. I think the Zulu really destroys the nice lines of the Whiskey Cobras though.

What a superb set. One thing that has never changed with the Snake is the tiny front cockpit. The 1Z is a real beast but I'd bet it doesn't sound as good.
