Singapore Airlines A380

Post by McG »

I have spent the last few days in Singapore. 1 of the highlights of my trip, SQ322 SIN-LHR ready to taxi at just after midnight local time.

Thanks for the comments on the shot. It took 3 nights to get the shot I wanted - on the first 2, a United 747 arrived just before the A380 was due to push back, meaning that it's tail obscured most of the front of the A380. On the 3rd night the United 747 was delayed, resulting in the shot you see here. It also helped that the hotel had an open air balcony area on each of the higher floors, meaning that I did not need to worry about the reflections caused by trying to shoot through glass.

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. Some of the rooms on floors 7,8 & 9 overlook the T3 gates area along with runway 02L/20R at Changi. Ask for a room on one of these floors that overlooks the runway. You have the sun at your back all morning, till sometime between 12 and 1 ish.
