Lightning Missile Practice Camps, RAF Valley

Here are some recently scanned images from print film pictures I took at RAF Valley, North Wales, in 1984 and 1985.
They show 11 Squadron on their annual missile practice camp - always a highlight for local enthusiasts
Each lasted 1 to 2 weeks, subject to weather over Cardigan Bay ranges and X-winds at Valley. Aircraft rotated between Valley and Binbrook, according to serviceability, and launch success rate for the pilots scheduled to do them.
Happy days, , this is how I got my kicks as a 15 year old in '84.

Lovely stuff Phil from The STCAAME ramp? How did you manage that? I have been going to Valley under my own steam since '85. Only ever saw Lightnings on Ops twice at Valley. Only once with a camera
Used to get to the Rock early in the morning and look across for the tell tale sign of "Tails on the STCAAME ramp". Happy days
