The God of Fire visits Birmingham!
The God of Fire visits Birmingham!
Hi guys,
I was lucky enough to have some spare time this afternoon and walked down to Sheldon Country Park to catch the Vulcan Flypast at Birmingham Airport. Whilst at the same time my parents and neighbours took Tea on the front garden to watch the flypast! (We live two roads away and parallel to the runway, cracking spot for a spotter to live!)
She caught me off guard, I expected her to turn sharp from the Coventry approach into the Birmingham approach (they cross perpendicular to each other) but she came from the East at an angle to BHX's runway.
A lovely slow flypast, ended with a low exaggerated wing waggle! And I do mean exaggerated!
Anyway here are a few shots from the afternoon, the sun went in at the wrong moment as per usual!

Like the runway/people shot. Last time I stood in that field it was for Concorde...
Re: The God of Fire visits Birmingham!
Brilliant pics - it really was a good waggle (I was other end at the top of the car park).
Re: The God of Fire visits Birmingham!
Great pictures there though I never known a runway to look so bumpy in the UK.

Have you ever been into Boscombe Down? I've done it a few times, and it's like a roller-coaster!

No I have not been into Boscombe Down though I have been into Jersey that seemed a little bumpy.

Great photo's, love the 4th with the light underneath. Cranfield has a roller coaster runway which always provides some 'excitement' when spotting there.

Great pictures Andy, looks like you were just to the left of us.
Pity my memory card filled up just before the wingwaggle !
But it was great to see and experience it,right overhead !
