Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar Night Shoot

Post by BHHH »

Information for the Night shoot at Biggin Hill:

Saturday 17th of November 2012, 1530-1900, at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar.

The aircraft involved will be Spitfire MkIX TA805, Spitfire MkIX MK912, plus a few other vintage types!

Also talk/chat on flying the Spitfire and Hurricane by Clive Denny.

This will be our second event of this type and because of the limited space at the hangar we can only have a maximum of 20-30 attend.
The aircraft will be parked outside on the apron with no restrictions such as barriers and ropes etc and there is lighting from the hangar lights. There will also be the opportunity to sit in the Spitfire as well.

The aircraft will be available from 1530 Local on the day (sunset 16:36 Local) and engines run when dark.

This is only open to UKAR members!

Cost per person £40, please registar your place using the PM Function here on UKAR. Please also leave an Email address.

Many Thanks,

So sorry to have missed it after saying we were coming. Why do things that you HAVE to do always to conspire to get in the way of what you really want to do. The weather may not have been the best but would love to have been there to support the event.

Many apologies for our non-attendance

A big thanks to the BHHH team, it was great seeing the blue flaming exhausts on the Spitfires,
and the smoking Harvard was also a treat, then a hot mug of tea and fish & chips to finish
the evening, you looked after us well.

Another big thank you to all the team at BHHH for yesterday's event. Wonderful to see the aircraft running. Blue flames coming from the Spitfires and also from the Harvard were quite a sight. A great way to finish the evening with fish and chips and a cup of tea. Hope to see you again in the future.

Anthony.

Another big thanks to everyone on the Heritage Hangar team. I've now broken my nightshoot duck, and picked up some pointers for the next one. I promise to behave myself with the tea next time :cuppa:

£40  I would have thought that was a bit on the steep side of things myself.

Hope everyone had a nice night.

We still cannot quite get over the quality of the photographs from the night shoot. Well done to all! Had some requests for a night shoot over at the blast pens so will enquire with the aiport management about this!

On the subject of the cost, unfortunatley Fish and Chips plus AVGAS are not cheap these days! We do have other events at the hangar throughout the year that range in price, for example, if we do not run the aircraft then it is cheaper etc.

We like to keep the night shoots to UKAR and we tend to post our events on the Facebook page but we will endevour to post them here on UKAR as well.

Hope this helps,

Many thanks again,

BHHH

Having been to last years night shoot, I would say it is worth every penny!! Was really sad to have missed this years one, as was particularly looking forward to trying out my new lens but guess there is always a next time. Glad that it all went well though and everyone had a good time. Some stunning images appearing, well done guys.

Sorry to have missed the event, and the fish 'n' chips. My car went "tech" on me (still hasn't been fixed), hope to attend the next event.

Many thanks for a SUPERB event. Immaculate aeroplanes, friendly hosts, delicious food, good weather and plenty of room - what a combination. I thought £40 perfectly reasonable. Having been involved over the last 5 years with helping to choreograph night engine run events (involving airworthy aircraft) at a venue in the Midlands, I can appreciate the planning and costs involved!

Hi BHHH,

Just wanted to add a belated thankyou for last weekend.
It was a great evening with a very welcome surprise fish and chip supper which was much appreciated.

As usual great access to the aircraft and a wealth of knowledge on hand to answer questions, and constantly reposition aircraft for demanding photographers!!!!

I've finally posted some of my efforts, hope you like them.

Thanks again,
Jeff.
