Mongolian Air-Force

Post by Iron-Curtain »

Few old ORWO b&w negatives from my archive, 1982 Mongolia.

They had natural-metal ex-Soviet AF MiG-21PFMs and MiG-21US.
Known side-numbers in 1982:
MiG-21PFM - 001-012
MiG-21US - 101, 102
Sometimes later a few more PFMs arrived to the country, I seen photos 016,024,027...
Here is a photo of a memorial:

These planes got camouflage later:

Last training flights with the MiG-21 were monitored in 2003.

Hi my name is Tsolmon
I'm from mongolia. I was just wondering where you
got these pictures of pilots and planes.
That is mongolia's 137th air base. My dad was
a pilot in the air force. I was just curious if you have more pics
that i could see. I've seen him in one of the photos you got.
if you could get back to me that would be great.

Hi Tsolmon,
Send me your E-mail address as private-message, I can send you the personal photos of your father in high-res.
I have a lot of more photos from 1982, pilots, techs, planes...
If you inform me - where and when was the pilot training for your father in SSSR, probably I can find photos of him in my large archive...
