Firefighting from the air

The Mittlere Transporthubschrauberregiment 25 „Oberschwaben“ now Hubschraubergeschwader 64 (HSG 64) from Laupheim trained with the CH-53 the fire fighting from the air. They are using the fire extinguisher containers "Smokey". The filling of the Smokey was once practiced by hand and another time on a lake near Laupheim.

Very interesting. I pick the last one - as I have never seen CH-53 in those kind of action.

Fantastic shots. Interesting to see the fire crews wearing what looks like the old WW2 stahl helm.
