Under the waves at Sharm el-Sheikh

Post by PeteW »

Just back from a weeks break in Sharm el-Sheikh. Not many Brits there but plenty of Russians and Egyptians. Anyway, I bought an "Aqua bag" a couple of years back which the 7D fits in, just,..... sealed it up and went snorkelling off our hotel jetty. Here are the best results......

Very nice. Something we don't often get to see images of. Second from bottom image is that a marbled electric ray?

Awesome!!

I've been diving at Sharm el-Sheikh myself in 2011 and this brings back very vivid memories of the place. Its certainly one of the best diving spots anywhere in the world and you've captured some wonderful images!!!

I hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Thank you for the comments and yes Tommy, agree it was a great place to stay.

I've just looked up the Marbled electric ray and yep, seems it was one of those as it fits the size and shape. Just thankful now it did,nt go into defense mode - I had no idea at the time what it was and followed it along for a minute or so.....

Off to the Great Barrier Reef in July and really want to get some photos anywhere near the quality of yours! Can you give a bit more info about this 'Aqua bag' you used?

Octopus and the shoal of tangs feeding are the best two for me!

Mine was from Jessops and branded it an "Aqua bag" but yes - thats almost exactly what it is. Jessops had it priced about half of that too :dunno: :dunno:

Thanks too for the comments above - much appriciated.

Wonderful Photo's. Well done. I am going to Sharm in a few weeks time. A hotel called Savita resort and Spa. Have heard mixed reviews about it but hoping it will be ok! Any advice on Sharm where to go what to do what to avoid etc would be most grateful! Hope you had a fantastic time! also one last question.. was the sea warm?

Thanks!
