End of an era
End of an era
As a new member of this exclusive website I'd like to contribute a few of my shots for the first time. Although there were and still are lots of shots of the now retired German Phantom circling around I hope you like my pictures. And there are some more unique ones ... !

Lovely shots but I agree that the first one really stands out - I love that they lined them up in chronological order!

Dear Phantom phriends,
Thank you very much for your kind comments. I feel honoured and encouraged to show some more pictures of the Luftwaffe's former 'workhorse'.
Phantom coded 37+01 is still at Wittmundhafen AB and destined to become an display aircraft within the barracks area - where Phantom coded 37+03 proudly presents itself already.
Phantom coded 38+10 will 'survive' as well and is to become a 'gate guard' at Neuburg AB. F-4F coded 38+33 has the worst fate as it is to be scrapped these days.
My son had the idea to line up the very last German Phantoms in front of the hangar with JG 71's welcome greeting - and in the chronological order of the F-4F's colour schemes. I asked my friends at the air base and they all did a very good job to display the aircraft, didn't they? Thanks chaps! And thank you so much Holger!!
Like some more?

Re: End of an era
They are great, the second scheme I've never seen before .
Now that you mention they are still flying I would love to go and see some, Turkey and Greece have them which is the easiest for spotting , Greece I presume if they can afford the fuel.

Loving number two - background suits the aircraft perfectly!
