info here,

"RAF Northolt Open Day - 14 June
We are now registering interest from local residents for our Open Day on Saturday 14 June. The gates will open to the public at 1200 noon and we are expecting the flypast from the Queen's Birthday Parade to be overhead RAF Northolt just after 1pm. Entry will be by wristbands which are available in advance and will cost £10 each (under 5's are free). Anyone bringing a car onto the base will need to purchase a £5 car pass (Disabled Blue Badge holders are free). Wristbands will not be issued until nearer the date but bookings can be made now. Please provide full names, with nationality of each attendee, together with the make, model and registration number of any vehicles which are to be brought onto the base on the day.
Cheques payable to "Service Funds RAF Northolt" together with the relevant details of attendees should be sent to:
Sqn Ldr Richard Willis, MCO, RAF Northolt, West End Road, Ruislip, Middlesex HA4 6NG
Please mark the envelope Open Day 2014. Payments are non-refundable and RAF Northolt reserves the right to refuse admission."
I wonder, how 'local' is local?

I also noticed the 'local' bit too. I know there was a Saturday event about 3-4 years ago that was local residents and RAF families only, is this going to be the same? Has the RAF yet realized that almost nobody uses cheques anymore?

I'd wait and hear from Mr Zeppelin first as he may have exemptions for registered night shooters and plenty people still use cheques as a form of payment.

I have checked with Sqn Ldr Willis and UKAR members can apply for tickets along with the locals.
Cheers Phil

Good news I best get me a Cheque book!
Re: RAF Northolt Open Day 14th June 2014
great news Phil, count me in please... might have even joined the ranks of the great unwashed by then too
Re: RAF Northolt Open Day 14th June 2014
I wonder if Phil could answer this (maybe not given the event is still months away) - presumably the aircraft for the open day will all (or almost all) have arrived onthe Friday, and so will they all be available for the night shoot or will access be limited to the curren nightshoot area in front of the hangars.
I ask because I would have thought that the nighshoot would produce a more orderly/relaxed atmosphere for us photographers rather than having the public wandering around as will be the case on the Saturday, and it will be light until late in June so no problems on that front.

Re: RAF Northolt Open Day 14th June 2014
Due to various reasons beyond our control there will not be a Night Photoshoot on the 13th. However there may well be a small number of places available to photograph the Open Day arrivals from the BFPO mound during the day. More info on this when I have it.
Cheers Phil
