Re: Northolt Nightshoot XVIa
As long as there's aircraft on the pan I'm a happy bunny... I'm off to fire up the camera in preparation for the night shoot
Re: Northolt Nightshoot XVIa
Along long shot, but there's currently a beautiful Wessex (Ghanaian registered) at Biggin Hill that would look beautiful running under the lights!

12(B) Squadron have now got a Tornado GR4 painted up with a special tail for their disbandment, due out of the paint shop tomorrow. If this could be persuaded down to Northolt for the nightshoot it would be a major coup, as the tail won't be around for too long it seems.
Not unless arrestor gear is installed between now and then.

Didn't 41TES manage to land three jets for one of the nightshoots?

If it came to it, I would make the 273(!) mile round trip just for the Wessex alone! Here's hoping

Only 273! miles (or is that factorial 273?) - you are lucky. It will be approx 498 miles round trip for me, and didn't I spot a couple of Dutchmen who were coming originally?

Up until the last Nightshoot this was my 'local', just a 40 mile round trip
Now that I have moved to Cornwall it will be a 460 mile round trip
The problem is once you've done a few Nightshoots you get 'hooked'. Luckily I've still got a billet 20 minutes from Northolt.

You are right Storm Shadow. I am one of the 4 ? Dutch guys who will come over for the event.
It is around a 650 miles round trip for us

Kier
Re: Northolt Nightshoot XVIa
Not trying to claim the furthest miles just pointing out I'd travel what ever miles to see that Wessex, Northolt would be my only chance at the moment!
Fair play to anyone coming from further afield too

Well, we did come over a week ago, as we had already booked and paid for the tunnel and hotel. And now we'll be coming back over again. 1184 km (735.7 miles) round trip , but I can't wait to make them again next Thursday.
These are for Phil
Cheers,

Re: Northolt Nightshoot XVIa
I justed wanted to post my thanks to Phil and those involved in the Nightshoot for putting together another strong line-up, with the Irish CASA a first for the type to go under the lights. Also, there appears to be good mix of jet, helicopter and prop aircraft. Cracking job!
I did feel sorry for those people coming a long way for the postponed event, but a healthy amount of "crap happens, move on" and inherent goodwill for Phil and the Nightshoot team has been shown.
On a personal note my journey is a whole 8 miles, possibly 8.5 miles if I stop for something to eat!!

Looks like you're pulling out all that stops for this one.
Pity I can't get the time off work and make that 1,200km round trip Looking forward to seeing the shots.
