Afternoon All

So, Therasa's gone trigger happy with the emails, George has ordered the beer - and then ordered some more.

Metcheck says:

Sat 12 Jul 20 °c 22 °c 1024 mb 75 % 0.0 mm 17 % 1 mph
Sun 13 Jul 21 °c 23 °c 1024 mb 73 % 0.0 mm 13 % 0 mph

Even the Jeep's managed to struggle through another MOT.

Looks like we're on!!

Be quick - we're keeping the limited slots arrangement.

Cheers
Clive

Just seen the following on Kempsford's website { don't recall seing it there last time I checked } : http://www.pillow.co.uk/fairford-airshow-camping-and-glamping/
Be interesting to know where these pre-pitched tents are going to be located -- bottom field by the beer tent , or up in the top field......and if the latter , whereabouts ??
{ Hopefully not in the top field either along the airfield fenceline or along the NW treeline :whistle: }

£400 for 2 nights and all it is is they provide the stuff you chuck in your car normally!!! Can you imagine any other country having an airshow with such tosh.

Not defending the price in any way, but not everyone arrives by car some fly to the nearest airport then hire a car or take public transport to the site. For those people having a pre pitched tent would probably be cheaper than having excess baggage on a plane for example.
i know this since i have done it in the past but no longer fly down due to high overall costs.

Or having to buy all the camping kit just for a couple of days usage.
I seem to recall prior to last year's RIAT that someone posted on here asking if any of the campsites offered such a service & I wouldn't have thought Kempsford would start offering it if they didn't think there was a market for it.

I can kind of follow the logic for those not driving in their own cars (though it isn't hard to get a sleeping bag and 2 man tent in a suitcase if travelling by air, I've done it). But doing the maths I'm sure I could buy all the stuff for cheaper than that. And as for the family tents - £460 for 4 people for just 2 nights, and you have to bring all your own stuff. They make it sound so value for money - 'furnished' with air beds. 'Just bring your own bedding'. Unbelievable.

They were set up last year as a demonstration and have been set up at other festivals and events for years, don't know why anyone is surprised!

@themaster, you're coming across a bit partridge: "this country". ;)

Take it they were down the bottom field by the beer tent ??
As you say , the system's been around at other events for years , not to mention at various permanent camping / caravan parks both in this Country and abroad.

Just noticed on their website........
Didn't it used to say - either on the site , the Ts &Cs or the booking form - the dimensions of the individual pitches ( think it was something like 11m x 9m ) , just that I can't see the pitch size mentioned anywhere on there this year ??
Presumably they'll be the same size this year ??

Mystery solved.....it's on their Newsletter -- Pitch sizes are unchanged at approx. 11m x 9m.

wow! nice one.. Hopefully the weather is the same as last year. I'm not allowed to bring my sandals again this year. Every year that I did, it rained. Last year I didn't and there you go.
Anyways..... looking forward to another year at Kempsford with the usual faces and some new ones. Camp J&Cs will be set up with the interesting flag in the forward field as usual.
