16TH APR: C'est La Vie

Post by Lloyd H »

A day spent, for the most part bathed in sunshine, which after my last day on the hills was most welcome.
Took the risky option of heading to the Snakepit opting for the better light, as most know the French didn't quite pick up on the 'loop' but instead headed straight out of the Bwlch twice. Thankfully the 12(B) commemorative tail more than made up for missing the Mirages, with the pilot putting in two fantastic passes. The finally tally for the day was a handful of Hawks and 6 GR4 passes.

All shot with a Nikon D7100 and a Nikkor 300mm F2.8 VR, the latter kindly lent to me by the Chiseler (MJ).

Amazing pictures incredibly pin sharp and with plenty of detail. Great catch on the 12 & 617 Squadron Tornadoes, very hard to pick a clear favourite from all of these

Lovely pics.

Can anyone confirm that the crew in the Tonka are wearing camouflage flying suits ? It might be me, but it doesn't look like the usual gro-bag.

Yep you are indeed correct, looks similar to the Afghan gear they wear?

Fantastic set- of which the stunning first shot is head and shoulders above the rest!!

Is it me or are some of the RB199s getting a bit smokier in their old age?

Think the smoke definitely makes the photo, who knows though!
