i think you've got more chance of the RJ flying in the station flypast.

While the show is looking OK, still think its dissapointing at the lack of foreign modern military assets. Obviously out of the organisers control, it just baffles me why shows like Gilze-Rijen/KB/Karup are so much better supported than Waddington, especially considering the 65 years of Nato theme. Still, looking forward to the show, hopefully a few more bits to be added yet

Bigger budgets probably, and they're later in the year when there aren't as many shows to conflict with.

Military asset allocation is nothing to do with budget. It's down to which shows those countries want to send their kit too, they're not available to pick off a shelf unfortunately!

There's still 7-8 weeks to go and plenty of opportunity for more foreign aircraft to join the line up. I think there's loads to look forward to this year from home and abroad.

Dear SilentFlight and team,

Any chance of having the Sentry, Senitnel and Rivet Joint doing a formation flypast before splitting up into solo passes?

Also really liked the Sentry's solo display in 2012, any chance of a repeat this year from any of the aircraft in the station flypast?

There are rumours that the F35 will display before RIAT at the naming ceremony of the the Royal Navy's new aircraft carrier on the 4th July. I know that it can only be based at a USAF base ( Fairford ) but since it will already have given its debut at the aircraft carrier naming ceremony, maybe a flypast at the RAF's show will be possible????

Great line up of classic jets! looking forwards to the Draken, Viggen and Canberra.

Bit disappointed that the foreign military haven't really supported the Reds 50th anniversary, but there is not much we can do now but enjoy what we have already ( Patrulla ASPA, Jordanian Falcons, Blades & Gnat Team ). The clash with the late announced French show hasn't helped either (maybe the RAF should write to the French in advance to let them know of Waddos dates to avoid a clash like this year).

Any more Uk based team displays to add to the Reds party? How about the AeroStars ( Great display ) or the new Team Raven with its RV8/4s from swansea??

I do hope the Foreign military will start supporting waddo again like they do the Dutch, Hungarian, Polish, Slovak and Belgian Air Force shows, especially with the Big RAF 100th anniversary in 2018, which will be a massive year for waddo ( assuming the RAF give it the 'official 100th anniversary airshow' title rather than Fairford).

Anyways looking forwards to July...

Somehow doubt the French will move Bastille Day celebrations to tie in with Waddington Show dates...the Rivet Joint has the small problem of not yet being declared airworthy by the UK military authorities

And I think the Blades and RJF more than do for the prop team contingent...the Aerostars aren't bad though, Vans always leave me cold (no offence to the pilots, just the aircraft do nothing for me) :tumbleweed:

I think the show looks great, with plenty of variety and a decent array of interesting hardware both old and new - looking forwards to July now

In answer to some of the above:

Hopefully there will be a Station Flypast - composition unknown at the moment.
Solo Sentry display not an option this year.
F35 rumours are just that and unfortunately the F35 will not be at Waddington in 2014.
We requested all possible European display teams with letters from the RAF Waddington Station Commander - we have little influence on where overseas nations choose to send their assets.
In 2011 the French were informed of the dates for the next 5 Waddington shows, they chose to go with the same date.
Sorry have no funds left for additional civilian display assets.

Fingers crossed for good weather 3-6 Jul

Doubt it will be the last one as it seems like dates are planned until 2016 going on the post from Touchdown.

Bastille Day Celebrations are on the RIAT weekend!

And the French originally had a Meetling De L'air at Valenciennes Air Base that weekend. This clashed with RIAT. Then the French were ordered to shift their date to the monday (bastille day itself - July 14) to accomodate RIAT. Don't know who or from where this order came from, but RIAT benefitted from this..........

But no such action for the clash of the other random Meetling de L'air at Nancy with Waddington ............... and so the Italians, Belgians, Dutch, Italians all send their flying demos to Nancy instead

Don't worry SilentFlight/ TouchDown, you still have an awesome line up at Waddington this year

Valenciennes is a civilian airshow, Nancy is organized by the airforce itself. And the message to Valenciennes from the French airforce was more friendly advice, in view of the participation Valenciennes asked for.

It looks like the flying program is pretty much full now (based on comments on the shows official Facebook page) and I think the line ups looking great with a bit of something for everybody to enjoy. Fingers crossed for a few interesting additions to the static park over the next few weeks (US Navy, USAF, Polish Navy, Czech Republic, Canada, Austrailia are all still listed as bring in on going talks).

I seem to loosely recall being told the Slovaks alternate between Wad and Fairford, so perhaps the plan is to do Wad this time. As for service issues there are always some flying, sure its not all 12 but then with maintenance no air force is ever going to be able to have all airworthy at one time.
