Hamilton (Ontario) Night Airshow / Skyfest / Night Shoot
First off, I make no apologies for the number of images
Instead of their traditional Father's Day Weekend air show, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum instead hosted a two-day open house called "Skyfest" along with a Saturday night air show and a Sunday Bomber Night Run featuring the Lancaster, the Commemorative Air Force's B-24A Liberator, and the indefatigable Mosquito. Skyfest itself was a bit underwhelming, as the promised "flying throughout the day" consisted mostly of the CWH aircraft giving rides, but I took a ride on the DC-3, so it was all good. The nighttime events, on the other hand, were utterly spectacular (if a little pricy - the night show was all of CDN$129.99!). Sadly though two of my faves, the Firefly and the Canso, were down for maintenance. Note that the Lancaster is wearing a one-off paint scheme especially for this event; she'll be back in her Mynarski Memorial scheme for her UK tour.

Superb. Night shots are fantastic.
The B-24 is such a brute - far more menacing than a B-17 IMO.

Very nice. Power lines don't look too difficult but remember the red peaked cap removal tool, too!

Sublime set of photo's, thanks for posting.
It's such a shame they won't be keeping the sharks teeth on the Lancaster when it comes over here.

A great set of photos, but the night shots are superb
I also agree with Dan's comment about the Liberator. Surely it must be due for a trip over here...please.

I need something to wipe away the drool.... fantastic set and one or two are beyond belief notably the dusk Mossie take off and the formation shots.
Was Diamond Lil at Boscombe Down about a million years ago? I'm sure I remember seeing a Liberator there. A better bomber than the B17 by a country mile: longer range, bigger bomb load, maybe higher ceiling as well I think.

Really nice set Sean with lots of variety, the static shots are brilliant as are the late light shots.
