A small update:
Talks are still ongoing with the Turkish Air Force and we are awaiting for the final reply in the coming days.
Discussions with the French, German and United States Embassy officials are also ongoing with possible participations from the three countries.
The Malta airshow team is currently in advanced talks with Egyptian officials about participation of a K8-E for this year's airshow
We have been informed that the Algerian, Lithuanian and Portuguese Air Forces are unable to participate in the Malta International Airshow 2014.

The latest update on our discussions with countries and their air arms concerning aircraft participation.

Talks are ongoing with Egypt and received official notification that the Royal Moroccan Air Force intends to participate with one aircraft for static display, no type of aircraft determined yet.

We are awaiting further replies from the Belgian Air Force, Italian Air Force, Polish Navy and the Turkish Air Force on a final decision on their participation in this year's edition of the Malta International Airshow.

We have been informed that the Austrian Air Force, Finnish Air Force, Italian Navy, Japanese Air Force, Royal Air Force of Oman and the Serbian Air Force are unable to participate in the Malta International Airshow 2014.

Germany will be increasing its participation this year with both the German Navy and the Air Force making a presence.

The German Navy has confirmed a Do228 and a P-3 and the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) will be sending a Tornado from JG33. All three aircraft will be in the static display line and this is a most welcomed return of the German Air Force to the Malta International Airshow after an absence of a number of years.

The Malta Aviation Society heartily thanks the German Embassy in Malta including the Defence Attache’ staff in Rome.

13 th June Update : breath taking news although it's Friday the 13th ! :)

Hellenic Spooky returns

Another nation added to this year’s record number of participating countries. The Hellenic Air Force has confirmed it plans to participate with an F-4 PI 2000 Phantom

Thanks to the huge effort by our Maltese Ambassador to Greece, HE Mr. Charles Stafrace, The Hellenic Air Force returns to the Malta International Airshow with a F-4 PI 2000 Phantom from Andravida Air Force Base in Greece. This will be the second time Greece as a country participates in the Malta International Airshow after participating in the 2005 with another F-4 Phantom.

The Team on this year’s Malta Int’l Airshow warmly welcomes the return of the Hellenic Air Force.

Hi there

Planning to come over to Malta for the airshow this year but as I've never been to Malta looking for some advice? Where's the best place to stay? Looking for somewhere to have a nice holiday with easy transport to the airshow. Will there be buses from resorts to the airshow? If so which resorts? If not what's the best way to get there?

Any and all advice gratefully received.

Lel

I always stay the other end of the island but have no problems with getting to the show. Dedicated mini buses run from the main bus terminal in Valletta direct to the airshow and standard services stop within about a mile of the gates.

Just noticed on the Malta Airshow website that at least two Lossiemouth Tonkas have been added to the static along with an RAF King Air.

Just need a special tail Typhoon to complete the line-up!

Shaping up to be an excellent show.

Cheers
Tim

The Team on the Malta International Airshow 2014 is proud to confirm yet another participant with non-standard attributes. An L-39ZA from US commercial company ATAC has agreed to provide one jet for static display.

The nicely-camouflaged L-39 is mainly used for supporting air forces in various roles and ATAC is currently also operating in Germany supporting US Forces in Europe.

Undoubtedly, ATAC’s L-39 will provide a new prospective into how ex Warsaw Pact jets are presently utilised to sharpen the skills in today’s warfare.

ATAC (Airborne Tactical Advantage Company) comprises the world's largest out-sourced civilian, tactical airborne training organization and is proud to provide the highest-quality live training to fleets, squadrons and battalions that put their lives on the line every day in the name of freedom.

The L-39 Albatros is a widely flown trainer/light attack aircraft similar in mission to the Italian MB339. Until now is in service with various former Soviet allies. The basic trainer is not armed, but has two underwing pylons for drop tanks and practice weapons. Light-attack variants have four underwing hardpoints for ground attack stores; the ZA also has an underfuselage gun pod.

The Malta Aviation Society is delighted to host the ATAC L-39ZA, as this has made possible one new milestone for the airshow: the first time a company of this kind is participating. We are delighted to see ATAC L-39 in the Malta International Airshow.
