The Graf Zeppelin Collection - Update 3 - 375 Not Out!
Having spent some time coaxing Phil into letting me scan some of his slides in, he's finally realised that resistance is futile and allowed me to start sticking them into Flickr.
The vast majority are from base visits on the east and west coasts in late 1978, with a few random locations thrown in for good measure.
Here's a few we/I've added so far:
As The Carpenters famously sang, we've only just begun, so a lot more will be added as time permits.
Enjoy!

I know you think you understood what I said, but I'm not sure you realise that what I said is not what I meant.

Ha ha!
What I should have pointed out, of course, is that all of Phil's slides can be seen on his photostream at https://www.flickr.com/photos/130782777@N06/
Thanks for the prompt, Jeff!

Wow. I can recommend the Flickr site, which has been responsible for me doing no work at all so far this morning.

Re: The Graf Zeppelin Collection - Update #1
1978 for Mr. Zepplin was alright photography wise..... That Flickr account is not good for my nostalgic heart!
Of course they are deceiving me, I can't remember ever seeing a photograph with more than one in it! 8 tails in one photo must be some kind of record, that is over half the fleet (14 or 15 the total fleet??).
And no, you're eyes aren't deceiving you, these really are Moroccan Air Force MiG-17s...

It was the only year he's ever taken pictures. Apparently...
He's supposed to be handing me a box that includes Chateaudun tomorrow - that'll freak a few people out I bet!

Entering the final stretch, here's another smorgasbord of what's been posted in Phil's West Coast travelogue...
Click on the image to see the full sized image and join the photostream.
It's not everyday of the week (even 30-odd years ago) that you'd come across Haitian T-28s...
"When I grow up I want to be a Chinook!"
So, with one week of his trip to go, there's just Miramar, North Island, George AFB Open Day, Barstow Dagget (California, not Devon!) and a few odds and sods left to sort through.
Enjoy!

These shots remind me so much of my own trip to west coast USA in 1982. One of these days I will get around to scanning some of mine. Keep them coming........

If you click on the H-6 image, the C-141 is 2 images to the left in the photostream.
