771 NAS - All Good Things..

Post by Lloyd H »

The civilianisation of UK SAR is fast approaching meaning that the RN and RAF SAR squadrons days are numbered, I was lucky enough to spend two days at RNAS Culdrose with 771 NAS documenting their SAR work for an article in a Portuguese magazine.

I visited 771 NAS back in 2013 so its nice to see that my work and thinking behind images has progressed somewhat (at least in my opinion!). Hope you like the shots, theres a blog post up on my website for those interested going into some more detail about the varied history of 771 NAS - http://lloydh.co.uk/blog/2015/6/17/771- ... -to-an-end

3. Instantly knew this would make for an interesting image with the light streaming in through the window and highlighting all the details and features of the aircrewman.

Just amazing, the quality and composition is probably the best I've seen on here in a long time. Really love the way the colours aren't over saturated, they fit the scene perfectly.

Thank you all for the very kind comments :)

I really struggled to get the WB/colours right for the cliff winching shots as the sea kept throwing it, I seem to be cursed when it comes to the weather down there as well!
