Re: RIAT 2015
Sadly not, Singapore Hercs look great, but Singapore have never attended. Always thought the best chance were the A-4s at Cazaux, obviously we still have that chance with the M346s, but they are a poor substitute for those cracking camo Scooters.

Re: RIAT 2015
Is it me, but just been perusing over the showground map and can't see a fun fair, not that I'm complaining, waste of good space etc.
Re: RIAT 2015
It'll be there, don't worry about that. Sat right behind the Spanish Freedom Fighters will be a huge, inflatable slide

Doesn't look like there will be a Fun Fair this year. Odd specially with the amount of kids that attend.. I expect a lot of enthusiasts/parents like to let there kids go off while there taking pictures watching the displays etc. doesn't look like there is much to do for the kids..

No, just one of the worlds largest military airshows.

The RSAF are pretty secretive about their Hercs, and even more so about their F-50s. I think quite a few of them have special attachments that they don't really want people knowing about (especially some of their F-50s, which are very highly-modified). In the 7 years I've lived there, I've only seen C-130s or F-50s twice in public, once in a very distant flypast and once on a static display with quite a few covers and cordons to stop people seeing things or getting too close. The chances of them doing a foreign airshow are VERY slim. They modified the A-4s too (to the extent that one video from the RSAF called them "Singapore's very own A-4SUs"), I don't think they were particularly keen on putting them on display either, but the M346s have appeared in public in France quite a few times.

An Airfix kit??
Re: RIAT 2015
Just announced: PlanesTV will produce this year's RIAT DVD! Very pleased about that, an excellent company who produce excellent DVDs, and recently they have been getting things out on time too. I was never a fan of The Media Group.

I was looking through my RIAT photos last night - I first photographed an 'F-35' in 2007!! I don't know if that was it's first appearance or not

Pretty sure I have a photo of the plastic one taken at RIAT 2003.

Does this mean that they may be live streaming one day? I am going on Saturday, but just wondered if this was a deal they have made with DBH.

Not sure. I know streams usually have to be allowed by the organisers. As it's a sell-out, they may not mind if PTV live stream as the main reason organisers don't allow streams is because they think people will watch live rather than buy a ticket and go for real. I suppose we'll know soon enough. Be nice if they could stream the arrivals and departures too, but that would be a lot of work for a fairly limited audience I would expect.

I like the sound of an Arrivals live stream

Re: RIAT 2015
As far as I know , RIAT have never allowed live streaming in previous years.
If they did so this year , there'd likely to be a fair number of pretty narked punters who'd rightly think "I could have saved a load of money by watching on-line instead"
As for my F-35 comment......
Can't remember if it was on the RIAT website or on their Faecebook page , but I did see somewhere that the plastic one is being wheeled out again......not sure if said it'll be in the BAE bit or the Technozone.
Of course , I may be wrong , in which case.......
No doubt someone can confirm it either way.

Re: RIAT 2015
Going by the recent live feeds they've done , there are probably some people out there who may like coverage which 90% of the time consists of footage of a section of the crowd , occasionally interspersed with random clips of aircraftcapercaillie wrote:Yeah, cos that's really just as good

Still won't stop some people complaining , though.

Re: RIAT 2015
Don't underestimate how complex it is to produce a livestream of an Airshow, particularly RIAT
