Hi Oscar, I already asked that question a few pages back. The suggestion was that there is time to look at most of the static display after the flying, but people prefer to go on two days and spend one watching the flying and the other walking around the static display.

One thing to consider is leaping on one of the buses from where you are to the opposite far end, then you are at least walking back towards your car park. If you're lucky to get one of the open top buses you can grab some photos on the way too

The layout is much nicer, this morning though the photos on the aircraft page were taking an age to download. Did tweet DBH about it.

And of course if you go with your family and there are a few aircraft you aren't interested in flying, you can always ask them to hold the fort while you wander off for a few minutes. Depends on how busy your area is though.

This time next week I'll be as happy as a pig in,....

At the end of the show, I'm planning on driving to Leicester and returning early morning the following day to enjoy it, all over again.

How long,.. judging by your past experience,... does it taken the traffic to filter and get away?
Only ask, as last time I went, I was stuck in the carpark trying to leave the airfield gone midnight. (Mind you, a Russian Mig 29 was smouldering near to the exit road).

Never had much problem leaving - go for a wander afterwards and wait til the masses depart. It sometimes depends who's on last. If it's not a 'Joe blogs' favourite the crowds start thinning out before the end normally :-)

Regarding the Friday show.
Really feel they should look at making it an evening/Sunset show.

Would be great to start at around 4pm till 9 or something,

Mark.

Absolutely agree. It would be something extra added to the normal show days. I have seen it a couple of times in Belgium, and the light you can get on the aircraft is just awesome. Of course in the UK chances like that are a lot smaller

DBH should contact Horizon at St Athan....I'm sure they could do them a deal for a replacement Da-42

Strangely , they've put this info on the 'Confirmed Aircraft' page on their website , but as far as I can see there's no mention of it elsewhere ( either 'latest updates' , or their twitter & facebook pages )

Is that a first, to have confirmations of participation by all 3 European Gripen operators to be followed by cancellation of all 3 European Gripen operators!

Of course and my disappointment is with the cancellation of the Gripen not anything else.

The rest of your post hardly oozes optimism either though ;-)

New Zealand remains ongoing so that's hopeful still :-)
