He's possibly been there all week outside the gates of Anfield shouting "Gizza Job"! Looks like it's had the desired effect.

Mode-S ( what MLAT tracks ) isn't so much altitude-dependant - although it usually drops out below 3000ft - it's actually down to the number of 'feeders' detecting the aircraft. If I recall correctly , less than 4 reliable feeders means the accuracy falls off markedly & when that happens FR24 stops showing them. Hence why XH558 frequently disappears off the screen.

Thanks for that guys! Useful.

It's going to the USA with some 41 squadron Tornados, full details are on FC.

Approaching Brize, by any chance...?

Given the time of day, I'm guessing that you've spotted some Australian aircraft in Australia.
And as the smart ship grew,
In stature, grace and hue,
In shadowy silent distance grew the iceberg too....

Is that why ZZ337 Voyager is showing south east of Madrid at present or is it unrelated? Wondered if there was UK participation too.

Thanks

For Android:

WHAT'S NEW

v6.6.1: misc. bugfixes
----------------
For this release, we have focused on filters. We have extended the filter functionality and made it easier to use. It is now possible to filter on a whole family of aircraft as well as highlight filtered aircraft over the top of all visible aircraft.
It is also now possible to change map settings directly from main map.
The release also contains a number of bug fixes and we have made the app compatible with Android 6.

I can't find a recent update for iPhone, but for iPad:

v6.5.1

In the recent 6.5.0 release we added Apple watch support, enabling you to use you watch to get complete information about nearby flights. In this bug fix release we've ensured that your unit settings in the app are respected on the watch. Also, the list of nearby flights has been improved if you are in an area with a large number of aircraft in the areas.

Both pieces of text easily accessible on the respective app stores.
