I've stayed in Graz before when doing this show. It's a beautiful city, and less than an hour's drive from Zeltweg along good quality roads. There will be plenty places closer at hand to stay in, I'm sure, but I quite like to stay somewhere interesting in its own right so I can do a bit of exploring once the flying is out the way.

The camping at RIAT has nothing to do with the organisers at the airbase...?

The entire airshow is free at Zeltweg! It's a joint-effort between the Austrian Air Force, who treat it as their open day, and Red Bull (whose 'baby' the show really is and who chuck vast sums of money at the event).

It's virtually impossible to draw any meaningful comparisons between an event like Zeltweg and any of the shows in the UK.

Fancy going for another chalet?

I think I'll stay a bit closer this time....the day trip from Vienna was a bit of a marathon!

Sorry, what I was getting at was the costs of those sites around Fairford, not RIAT itself.
