They've made it clear that the first years show will be smaller in order to help find the events feet and for the team to learn what the locations potential is.
A very quick study of Scampton highlights that number of operational pans appears to be very limited.
Reading the taxiway markings.etc it appears the majority of concrete standing areas/pans and the entire north side taxiway network of the airfield are potentially not operational/cleared for use; I have no information to say either way if these have been maintained to a suitable standard or not. Also, I note the active length of the runway appears reduced at one end.
To therefore expect a large static display and for most flying acts to operate from the airfield is, in my honest opinion, an unreasonable and unrealistic expectation. Of course I will love it if the team prove me wrong though.
To sum up, they haven't even placed tickets on sale yet, give the show a chance to prove itself ffs.
