Good point, being the first display on the Friday would make more sense due to the later start so perhaps the show will open with the F-35B/Typhoon/Red Arrows flypast then move into the C-130 demo then end with its solo display.

Hoping a few Helicopters and the Breitling Wing Walkers.
Reason being on the Sunday i'll have a very impatient 9 year old nephew who won't want to miss any jets!

An F16 and one of the Typhoons are guaranteed to be on in the first hour. They've always opened with 2/3 fast jets in recent years.

Better hope it's not the F-35 demo opening the show like one report suggested.

Morning all, I'm not going to get into the detail with regard to the display programme as there's still much to do but just wished to clear this one up and the answer is no the F-35 demo will not be opening.

Cheers, Tom :cuppa:

Tom, is there any significance as to why the Lithuanians have changed from confirmed to ongoing and dropped down the list on the confirmed aircraft page?

That's the word on the street, I haven't heard or seen reported whether this is the USAF or USMC/RAF contingent or both at the moment though.

Only info I had from someone who is involved with RIAT is six due in that day, cannot personally verify the accuracy of that.

Just dropped into my inbox:

Friday's flying display starts at 11am and finished at around 3pm and includes:
• RAF Typhoon
• F-35 Display
• F-22 Display
• Red Arrows Display
• Red Arrows, F-35 and 2 x Typhoon Flypast
• USAF F-35A, F-22 and Mustang Heritage Flight Flypast
• USAF Osprey
• Belgian F-16
• Airbus Defence and Space A400M
• Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - Spitfire and Hurricane
• Dutch Apache
• Turkish F-16
• RAMEX Delta
• Royal Navy Black Cats
• Civilian BAE Strikemaster (Friday only)
• US Marine Corps Hercules and F-35B Refuelling Demonstration (Friday only)

None to shabby, I would say.

What report was that?!

If true, wouldn't that mean the Raptor would be on roughly the same time to take part in the heritage flight? Hope its not true, would be ridiculous :ghost:

Is it safe to assume the Heritage flight will take place around lunchtime, to fit in with the Legends appearance? Cant see them launching twice.

Not bad at all, don't yet have Friday tickets but if they are still available Thursday evening and the forecast looks good I think I will make the trip.

I will go with the commentator who repeatedly mentioned validations last year on the Friday :icecream:

Nope.
As per the argument/discussion in another topic they didn't do any validations on the Friday last year.

I think what happens is better described as rehearsals than validations.

During the years I attended arrivals it was also described as such in the sheet of lies.

I assume Park & View East will remain open from early-on, before the Friday show? It was last year (and the year before I think). Friday last year; I parked my car, strolled down and entered that P&V area for a couple of hours then walked back to the Red Entrance around 10.30am to avoid the queues. It was generally quiet with regards to movements but there were a few arrivals.

I seem to recall two Polish MiG-29 displays on the Friday last year - I assume the first in very light drizzle [before the mini show] was a 'practice' and not a validation.

If you go by the RIAT website , that there's no P&V on the Friday :
The two Park and View enclosures (East and West) are open from 7.30am Wednesday 6 July and Thursday 7 July inclusive, and again on Monday 11 July.

Most yes, not all though. Quite a few before the display kicked off - RAF fast jets, KDC-10, Irish CASA, etc and then quite a few after, USAF MC-130, Belgian NH90, RAF Sentry, Puma, Hercules etc. Probably as many as 30 arrivals on Friday last year.

I'm assuming any aircraft that need to validate would happen on the Wednesday as we will only be in P+V which from previous experience means we aren't on the airfield.
