Commentary Team for Scampton Airshow

Post by BossMann »

Dear all

With this new airshow being set up by the RAFCTE I was wondering which commentary team we would like to suggest to the organisers that would give this new show a really good start.

Hopefully ScamptonMarketing is looking at this forum!!

I would like to see Ben Dunnell who is the current RIAT main commentator team up with Brendan O' Brien who always gets really good reviews of his commentary at Biggin Hill and Dunsfold. I think that would be a great combination.

Please not George Bacon

Any other suggestions???

John Motson.
With just the slightest bit of finesse, I might have made a little less mess.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for me. He will spend the entire show talking about how we're going to build a wall around the perimeter fence to stop spectators viewing from outside, while she will do her commentary via emails which she will send to us all via an email account that she probably shouldn't be using.

Seriously,

Sean Maffett, Mike Whitehouse and Angie Hollins - the original RIAT team! At least as far back as I can recall.

Otherwise, Roger Hoefling!

Mr Hoefling commentated at IAT '76! I think Mr Blake took the honours prior to that...

Jeremy Clarkson.."and there's Johnny Foreigner in something or other" and James May to spend hours on technical chat about each aircraft.

Cheers st24,

I was pretty certain that Sean and Co weren't the very first, chronologically, (no offence to the rest) but nostalgia over RIAT will forever be Sean and Mike with the occasional parish notice put out by Angie, not to mention the occasional story about the little boy who wanted to be a pilot/helicopter pilot!

Roger Hoefling was equally the voice of Cosford, Culdrose, Leuchars and Mildenhall!

John Blake I will always equate with Biggin Hill and Farnborough.

Mike Whitehouse (on his own) Finningley and Waddington.

FB (Dreaming)

PS Sean Maffett (on his own) Cosford (more recently), North Weald and a shed load of others!!
