What are UKARians planning to do - give this new show a go?
I'm not but only for logistical reasons.

I'll give it a go. It's relatively close so why not?

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Nope, the shuttle bus has kinda put me off. Whilst the cost doesnt put me off per se, ive got an evening airshow, a full airshow day and a spottersday for the combined price of £45 at Sanicole.

Not going, quite simply because of the distance involved.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Yup. An airshow at the home of the Red Arrows, and a new event from organisers who know what they're doing. Has to be worth supporting.
Grandstand seats with my daughters for Saturday. And Friday night hotel room in Lincoln. I'm worried about wx already!

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Nope. It clashes with Sanicole, which is almost certainly going to be a better show.

Given the decline in the UK air show scene, I think it's important to give any new show a fair go.
Not local for me, I`m travelling from Cornwall but so many air shows are now dropping off the calendar that any new UK show deserves a fair "hearing".

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
I'm not going to say a definite 'no' but it is highly likely I won't attend. For one the extortionate price of the ticket puts me right off and I don't see the need to have two RIAT style shows. Waddington was unique and it's nice - or at least in those golden days of airshows gone by, it wasnice - to see how individual stations put on a show. However, I just have a sneaky suspicion that they're going to pull something out of the bag and it's going to draw in all of the crowds. Saying that, it would have to be something pretty mighty to make me part with so much money....plus it's Cosby that weekend too, so it depends on the weather.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
As others have highlighted there's a few key issues putting me off; ticket prices, shuttle buses & shooting in the sun. That said; it the line-up has a few juicy items in it and the weather looks good, I'll probably give it a chance.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
I've already bought tickets from Thursday to Monday inclusive.
I'm taking a chance in order to support that rarefied thing - an airshow on a UK military base. Even if they just book the usual fare I will undoubtedly enjoy it, and if it is a well supported airshow it will hopefully grow in years to come.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Maybe, but probably not. For only a very slightly higher price (with the Super Earlybird offer), RIAT offers a bigger display. I'm also a bit put off by the uncertainty around the Scampton parking arrangements/shuttle buses/possible lack of pedestrian access, which I don't think has been fully clarified yet.
I'll wait and see, but if I attend a show in September, it's more likely to be Duxford. Maybe next year, though...

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Nope, once I factor in the cost of getting there and back and the ticket price, it is too costly. Also with my foot currently not healing too well after operation, it is difficult to pre-book anything.
I hope the show is a great success and hope it becomes a regular event.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Too expensive for its size, looking into the sun for the display, a long way from home, its not got too many positives for me at present. Pleased we have another "military show" starting up, disappointed with the early news. If something good is going may try the arrivals or departures and give it a recce.

Nope.
Too far away and - more importantly - I'm not on holiday that weekend.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Probably not, as Im not expecting it to be on the same level as Waddington and certainly not a miniRIAT.
Inside is looking into sun, costly, and parking issues.
Outside I predict an exclusion zone for miles around.
Line-up, unknown at this stage but I suspect it will be the usual fare, maybe if Sanicole can grab a juicy item or two they might be persuaded to come over here.
Too many uncertainties and hassles to work around.

I've put myself down as depending on the lineup - but for the price, it seems unlikely unless they really offer a USP.

I'm a definite maybe. Too many negatives, most described in previous posts, for me to go at the moment..

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Yes going to give it a go, I was hoping for a deckchair enclosure, but there isn't one so grandstand it is, seats to be allocated on arrival apparently, hoping the organisers can come up with some star items to justify the ticket price.

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
Might go to the arrival/departures days instead. Much cheaper, pay on the gate, the airfield is accesable and the crowds are much smaller. A better atmosphere all around
Re: So, you gonna go or what?
4 of us are going. We don't do RIAT, and Waddington was a disaster for us when we went a few years ago. It's the only 'big' show we're going to this year. Even upgraded our tickets to the garden so we get to park onsite and get decent seating. Yes these tickets are pricey, but we can afford it-so why not !

Re: So, you gonna go or what?
It's a bit far for me, but if there's something I really want to see, I'll consider it.
Is that actually true?
I'm not familiar with the site, but looking at the satellite view on google maps, it looks like spectators would be facing North-West-ish? (ie. sun at their backs all day?). Or is the crowdline going to be the other side of the runway, opposite the control tower? (in which case, it still looks better than Duxford and not much worse than Old Warden?) I don't see anything showing the layout on the official website?

Correct, the public viewing area will be on the South East side of the runway.
