Twelve months ago (today) the weather was superb as we photographer the triple tankers against a stunning sunset. I'd therefore had high hopes for saturday... but it wasn't to be. At least the magic of the night shots worked well and I'm sure the blue hour lasted longer than usual. Ironic that today is a stunningly sunny day :-(
Some lovely shots - still working through a few of mine.
Thanks for sharing

As much as I love night shots, something like this would be great in daylight too.

The event did start in daylight, but the weather didn't deliver as much as hoped for; the previous year with th tankers was wonderfully sunny with a stunning sunset, so whilst we all got daylight shots, many were far from being as good as could have been hoped for... but that's beyond everyone's control. The advantage of an afternoon and evening shoot is that even when this is the case, the light skin come out after dark and provide a different opportunity which nearly always provides results.... which it certainly did on this occasion... as usual.

Whilst the weather didn't help here's one taken during the day. I've added it to the original post too

Great shots and a real treat to see "my" Canberra in a nightshoot. Thanks for posting them.
